Resources may be interpreted as the total knowledge, skills, creative abilities, talents, and aptitudes of a company’s workforce, as well as the significances, attitudes, strategies, and beliefs of the individuals implicated in the affairs of the institution. It is the total or whole of intrinsic abilities, acquired proficiency, and skills exemplified by the talents and aptitudes of the persons assigned in the institution.

Human resources are multidimensional in behavior. From the national point of view, human resources may be distinguished as the proficiency, skills, creative capacities, talents, and mastery obtained in the population; whereas from the viewpoint of the individual business, they depict the total of the innate abilities, acquired knowledge and skills as embodied in the talents and mastery of its employees.

Human Resource Management: Nature

Human Resource Management is a procedure of bringing people and institutions together so that the goals of each are met. The numerous features of HRM include:

· It is pervasive as it exists in all businesses.

· Its priority is on outcomes rather than on statutes.

· It attempts to help laborers develop their probable fully.

· It motivates employees to give their decent to the institution.

· It is all about people at work, both as individuals and organizations.

· It strives to put people on assigned jobs in order to elicit good results.

· It assists an institution to meet its objectives in the future by furnishing qualified and well-motivated workers.

· It tries to build and conserve cordial connections between people working at various levels in the institution.

· It is multi-disciplinary training, utilizing knowledge and information drawn from psychology, economics, etc.

Human Resource Management: Scope

The scope of HRM is very wide:

1. Human resources scheming:-

Human resource planning or Human Resource Planning refers to a procedure by which the corporation observes the number of jobs vacant, whether the corporation has excess staff or scarcity of staff, and deal with this extra or scarcity.

2. Job analysis layout:-

Another significant area of Human Resource Management is job analysis. Job analysis gives a comprehensive justification for each and every job in the corporation.

3. Recruitment and preference:-

Based on evidence collected from job analysis the company prepares advertisements and disseminates them in the newspapers. This is called recruitment. Several requests are received after the advertisement is disseminated, interviews are conducted and the right employee is appointed thus recruitment and selection are yet another important region of Human Resource Management.

4. Exposure and induction:-

Once the employees have been appointed an induction or orientation program is administered. This is another important sector of Human Resource Management. The employees are notified about the environment of the company, explain the organizational culture and values and work ethics, and brief to the other employees.

5. Training and growth:-

Every employee goes under a training program that assists him to put up a better accomplishment on the job. The training program is also administered for existing staff that have a lot of knowledge. This is called refresher activity. Training and improvement is one area where the corporation spends an enormous amount.

6. Performance assessment:-

Once the worker has put in around 1 year of service, a performance assessment is performed that is the Human Resource department tests the performance of the employee. Based on these appraisals prospect promotions, inducements, salary increments are agreed on.

7. Compensation planning and remuneration:-

There are various rules regarding compensation and additional advantages. It is the job of the Human Resource department to look into compensation and remuneration planning.
